Sandbox and API keys
The sandbox
Section titled “The sandbox”- Holds synthetic data only — no production systems and no customer data.
- Is the only server the “Try it” console offers, and the only API the documentation site is allowed to contact.
Sandbox API keys
Section titled “Sandbox API keys”- Read-only and rate-limited.
- Sandbox-scoped: a sandbox key does not work against production, and a production key must never be entered here.
What happens to the key you enter
Section titled “What happens to the key you enter”- It is held only in the memory of the browser tab. It is not saved to local storage, cookies or the documentation server, and it is gone when you close or reload the tab.
- Requests go directly from your browser to the sandbox, with no proxy in between.
- The documentation site runs no analytics, heatmap or session-recording tools.
If you think a key has been exposed, contact us so it can be revoked and replaced.
